Maya is the Clinical Director of mindSMART.

She is a registered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in the private and government sector.

She has been in private practice since 1995, both in Australia and England. She has rooms in West Perth.  In the government sector, she worked at the Western Australian Department of Health 2004-2016, providing support for victims of trauma and other adverse circumstances leading to enduring personality change.  

She has a Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical) from Murdoch University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Western Australia, and advanced studies in Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming.  She has a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science from the University of Western Australia.

She has completed specialist mental health training at Graylands Hospital and the Alma St Centre, Western Australia.  She has been rigorously trained to give Expert Evidence in Court.

She was the Chief Investigator of a research study at the Western Australian Department of Health into the impact of childhood sexual abuse on adult attachment.

She is registered with the Psychologists’ Board of Australia, endorsed to practise in clinical psychology.  She is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Her work experience, formal qualifications and other professional training have provided her with a full understanding of emotional, behavioural, cognitive and physiological responses to whatever life throws at us.
